CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) POINTS

CPD points was introduced in home building industry on 1st March 2004. Its aim is to:

 Improve knowledge and practice across the industry in identified areas of marketplace concern
 Maintain or improve levels of competence, customer service and business management skills in the industry as a whole

A builder must earn 100 points over a 3 year period with a minimum of 25 points per year. These may be earned in the following ways:

 Category 1 – Structured learning through accredited learning organisation (TAFE etc)

 Category 2 – Formal industry meetings and trade nights

 Category 3 – CPD activities including subscription to trade magazines, mentoring apprentices, high school or college students and other activities not defined under Categories 1 & 2.
