HOME OWNERS WARRANTY INSURANCE

Owner builders' need to be aware that in order to sell a property (within 6 years after construction or alteration has been completed) State Legislations requires all owner builders to provide Home Owners Warranty. This Insurance is purely for the benefit of the purchaser and is attached to the contracts for sale.

What does 'Owner Builder' Home Owners Warranty cover?
Owner Builders' Home Owners Warranty Insurance protects the purchaser and subsequent homeowners for prescribed defective workmanship if the owner builder dies, disappears or becomes insolvent.

What is ABS's Role in providing Owner Builder Home Owners Warranty?
The process is very straight forward. You need to contact ABS and arrange for an inspection of the completed works (contact us). We will arrange for one of our qualified inspectors to complete a report to meet the insurance company's requirements. We then arrange for the application forms to be completed and advise you of the HOW premium. Normally the process takes between 5 to 7 days.
